Poster Session: New Insights For Better and Longer Life, 28 May 2002

More than 80 people attended a very successful poster session sponsored by the Longer Life Foundation on Tuesday, May 28th, 2002 at Washington University. Dr. Edwin Fisher, Longer Life Center Director at Washington University, and Dr. Philip Smalley, Managing Director, Longer Life Foundation, provided an overview of the Foundation, its mission and current activities, including the availability of mini-grants.

Twenty-eight posters were presented by Washington University researchers. The energy and enthusiasm for longevity and prognostication-related research was abundant. Presenters thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to discuss their work and to network with fellow researchers across divisions with whom they may not have previously had the opportunity to interact. Immediate feedback was very positive. Many people requested that we repeat the poster session annually. They indicated that this event helped them better understand the insurance industry and the mission of the Foundation.
